Walla Walla Youth Soccer Association (Washington State) is the association for the Blue Mountain Soccer Club. BMSC provides select soccer opportunities for youth from U-11 to U19.
What is Select Soccer? Select soccer is a more competitive level of play than recreation soccer and players must be selected from a tryout process. The emphasis is still on fun, but additional goals are skill development and tactical awareness. Select-level coaches and trainers are much more likely to have a broader experience in playing, coaching, and teaching the game. Select teams vary in commitment and ability levels, and compete against teams throughout Eastern Washington.
Reasons a parent might look into Select Soccer
- My child enjoys soccer and is motivated to play.
- I want my child to benefit from advanced training.
- I want my child to be challenged.
- I want my child to play with equally talented players.
- I just want my child to play at a higher level.
What more can I expect from a select soccer team? You can expect training and competitive play that develops skilled players and teams. Optional training will begin in June and July, with mandatory team practices beginning in August. The fall season consists of 8 weekend games (probably all on Saturdays) in September and October with up to four road trips in Eastern Washington. Teams may enter optional tournaments or a spring league.
